Say “Chorizo”! No childhood is complete without macaroni and cheese, but with adulthood comes the urge to try new things and add some flare to the mundane. This Chorizo Mac & Cheese recipe uses El Popular Chorizo to delight your grown-up palette while satisfying your inner child.

  • Makes: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • Kraft Mac and Cheese
  • El Popular Chorizo (Any flavor of your choice)
  • Butter
  • Milk

  • If pressed for time, our Chorizo works great mixed in with any brand of easy stovetop mac and cheese.

Directions

  • Place the chorizo in a large pan and cook over medium-high heat for about 4-5 minutes. Remove the chorizo from the pan and drain.
  • Boil water and stir in macaroni.
  • Cook 7-8 minutes. For firmer macaroni, cook 6 minutes.
  • Drain the macaroni and return to pan.
  • Add butter, milk, cheese sauce mix and chorizo. Enjoy!

Chorizo is a spicy sausage believed to have come from Ancient Rome and later adopted by the Spaniards who brought it to Mexico. Unlike Spanish Chorizo — Mexican Chorizo is soft, raw, uncured, and uncooked. Similar to how Americans view bacon, Chorizo is a versatile ingredient used to enhance any dish!

  • Prep Time: 2 minutes
  • Cook Time: 10 minutes
  • Makes: 6 servings

Ingredients

  • Remove casing from El Popular Chorizo links.
  • Place desired amount in a non-stick skillet.
  • Break-up El Popular Chorizo while cooking at medium heat.
  • Sauté for 7-8 minutes until the El Popular Chorizo is fully cooked or the internal temperature is 165 degrees (F).
  • Enjoy on or in any dish.
